My friend Ben met Ellis Burks today here on the ESPN campus. Ellis is trying out for a position for ESPN MLB remote telecasts.
I bought a pair of brown Timberland shoes size 9.5 at Bazilians the other week. I wore them for three days before I started to hear an annoying squeaking noise come from the sole of my left foot. Upset about this, I went back the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving Bazilians to return them. Upon arrival at the front desk, the clerk (and possibly the owner) asked me if I had wore them outside yet. I said "No, I have not. I have only wore them inside." Why he did not stop me, I do not now. The shoes were still wet, altogether I did do my best job to wipe them down with a paper towel I found in my old apartment. I then promptly picked up a new pair of the shoes in 9.5 and left the establishment. Squeak aside, I love these shoes. So much so, I purchased the same pair in black from Timberland.com for $65. The funny thing is the squeak came back in the new pair of brown ones. The squeak is yet to appear in the new black ones.
The DVD of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox hits the stores today. It is titled Faith Rewarded: The Historic Season of the 2004 Boston Red Sox. I will purchase it eaither today or this weekend. It should be much better than the one put out by MLB which focuses primarily on the World Series.
